2027 Chevy Trax, Trailblazer get tech, safety, and more gray

Chevrolet's two cheapest models add standard features, a bigger screen, and a Z71 trim — plus a new gray paint option.

Jalopnik reports Chevrolet has announced updates for the 2027 model year Trax and Trailblazer subcompact crossovers. Both gain more standard safety equipment, revised tech and styling, and trim level changes.

The Trax now comes in only three trims: base, RS, and Activ. New features include a redesigned grille and headlights, all-LED taillights, fresh wheel designs, and an optional power liftgate for the first time. Inside, the cabin gets hexagonal side air vents. The single new exterior color is called Storm Sky Gray.

The Trailblazer adds a new Z71 trim with a black and gray interior accented in orange, all-wheel drive, an off-road-tuned suspension, an underbody skid plate, and sport-terrain tires. Inside, the Trailblazer receives a column-mounted shifter, a redesigned center console with more flexible storage, rear-seat climate vents, and an optional AutoSense power liftgate.

Both SUVs get an updated electrical and software architecture that enables additional standard safety features: adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic braking, side bicyclist alert, intersection automated emergency braking, and a rear seat belt indicator. The infotainment screen grows to 11.3 inches running Google built-in with Gemini, and it includes standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 11-inch digital gauge cluster is also new.

Chevrolet has not announced pricing. The 2026 Trax starts at $23,495 including destination and the 2026 Trailblazer at $25,395. Jalopnik says prices are expected to rise only slightly for 2027.

Both are expected at Chevy dealers by spring.
