300ZX, Exocet, Pinzgauer: Jalopnik's latest odd-car finds
A Nissan Z31 with a classic-car skin, a kit car built from half a dozen donors, and an off-road radio truck highlight Jalopnik's weekly roundup of online listings.

Every week, Jalopnik digs through online classifieds and pulls out the most unusual cars for sale. This week's batch includes a Nissan 300ZX with a disguise, a Miata that's barely a Miata, and a radio truck that could broadcast from the apocalypse. Let's walk through the ones that caught my eye.
The Z with a past
Jalopnik found a 1985 Nissan 300ZX fitted with a "Spartan II" body kit that makes it look like a 1930s classic. The seller says the T-tops still work, and Jalopnik notes no news on leaks, so we'll assume the roof stays dry. I've seen a lot of weird modifications in my time, but wrapping a Z31 in a Deusenberg-inspired skin is a new one. It's a conversation starter, even if it might confuse folks expecting a Halo reference.
The ship of parts
This Exomotive Exocet starts as a Miata (NA or NB), but Jalopnik says the only Mazda bits left are probably the subframes. The engine is a Honda K24A2 from an Acura TSX, the transmission comes from an S2000, and the rear differential is a Getrag. The rest - suspension, dashboard, seats, both radiators - is aftermarket. Jalopnik calls it a Ship of Theseus situation, and they're right. That kind of frankencar takes a special owner, but if the donor car was solid, this thing should be a hoot on a track.
The apocalypse rig
The Pinzgauer 710k is a Swiss military radio truck built on an off-road Porsche chassis. Jalopnik pitches it as a way to broadcast car takes across the wasteland. I've got no plans for the end of the world, but a vehicle that can go through anything and keep you talking is a fine thing to have in the back of your mind. These things were built to last, and the off-road Porsche bones mean parts are probably easier to come by than you'd think.
If you're looking for something that isn't another gray sedan, Jalopnik's weekly roundup is worth a click. These three stand out as some of the most interesting cars I've seen in a long time.
