2026 Jaguar Type 01 electric sedan: 1,015 hp, 400 miles range, 60 built
The Drive's latest photos show the reborn Jaguar prototype as a striking four-door GT, not the coupe everyone expected.

The Drive reports the Jaguar Type 01 electric sedan is now officially a "luxury four-door GT" rather than the coupe many anticipated based on the 2024 concept. The outlet calls its proportions "intense": a low roofline, short front overhang, long hood, extended rear overhang, prominent louvers, and 23-inch wheels. Both cars shown feature gold accents behind the front wheels with an embossed Jaguar mascot.
The Drive describes the cabin as minimalist, with a central spine dividing four seating spaces, textured materials across the dash and seats, a deep flat dash reminiscent of a yacht, and a full-width soundbar from pillar to pillar. No buttons are present. The car uses a smaller portrait-oriented screen for climate and media functions, plus a gauge cluster screen in front of the driver. The Drive calls the interior "what you'd expect from a luxury automaker in 2026" and says that isn't a compliment.
Under the skin, three electric motors feed from a 118-kWh battery on an 850-volt architecture. Output is 1,015 horsepower and 1,007 lb-ft of torque. The Drive reports a 0-60-mph time of 3.1 seconds and a 62-to-112-mph pull in 4.0 seconds. Range is listed at 400 miles (non-EPA), or about 320 miles at sustained 75 mph highway speeds.
The Type 01 claims a drag coefficient of 0.23 — the Drive says it is the most aerodynamic Jaguar ever — aided by active vanes and a three-stage deployable rear spoiler.
Just 60 examples will be built, all designed and assembled in the U.K. The Drive notes pricing was not released.
