2027 Mini Countryman Untamed Edition Adds Lift, All-Terrain Tires

Car and Driver reports that Mini is rolling out a new off-road-themed trim for its Countryman crossover, called the Untamed Edition, for the 2027 model year.

The Untamed will be offered on the Countryman S All4 (gas) and SE (electric) in North America, and on the electric Countryman E and SE in Europe. No John Cooper Works version will get the Untamed treatment.

The S All4 uses a 241-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and standard all-wheel drive. The SE has a 308-hp dual-motor electric setup.

What Makes It Untamed

The Untamed gets a 0.6-inch suspension lift and new 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tires, boosting total ground clearance by 0.8 inch. A textured coating along the wheel arches, sills, and hood helps resist scratches, and there's additional underbody protection. The ABS, traction control, and steering have been retuned to work with the higher ride and all-terrain rubber.

On the outside, the Untamed has a redesigned front grille in a dark-gray finish called Dark Steel, which also appears on badges and trim. Paint options include rocky gray, icy blues and whites, and a new matte Frozen Nomad Blue. Roof choices are white or black.

A pop-up rooftop tent, developed with Italian camping company Autohome, is available. The roof can support 165 pounds while driving and up to 661 pounds while parked, making it a viable camping solution for two. A tow hitch comes standard, rated at 3,500 pounds.

Inside, the Untamed features a blue interior with a mountain logo on the seatbacks, optional brown or black upholstery, Dark Steel accents, a redesigned center console with elastic straps, and rubber floor and cargo mats.

Pricing and Availability

The 2027 Mini Countryman S All4 Untamed Edition starts at $45,250. Pricing for the all-electric SE All4 Untamed has not been announced. Production begins in late 2026, with a launch early in 2027.
