Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 get 10% discount this month

Electrek reports Hyundai is offering up to $7,000 off its electric SUVs as 2027 models arrive.

Hyundai is offering a 10% discount on the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 this month, with total savings reaching as high as $7,000, according to Electrek.

The 2026 IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range starts at about $35,000 and now qualifies for a $3,500 discount. That works out to exactly 10% off the MSRP. Electrek notes the lease offer is $339 a month for 24 months with $4,999 due at signing, and the EPA-estimated range is up to 245 miles. Upgrading to the longer-range SE RWD trim, which offers up to 318 miles of range, costs $369 a month with $3,999 due at signing. Hyundai also offers 0.9% APR financing on the 2026 IONIQ 5 for up to 60 months.

The three-row IONIQ 9 sees a bigger raw-dollar reduction: up to $7,000 off, or more than 10% of its starting price of $58,995. A 36-month lease on the base 2026 IONIQ 9 S RWD starts at $419 a month with $4,999 due at signing, and the EPA range tops out at 335 miles. Financing for the IONIQ 9 is 1.9% APR for up to 60 months.

Electrek reports that the 2027 IONIQ 5 is also available this month, with up to $2,750 in savings and leases starting at $369 a month.

“The lower prices reflect Hyundai’s commitment to affordability and its long-term strategy,” Hyundai said, per Electrek.

Both the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 are built at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America near Savannah, Georgia. Electrek says the IONIQ 5 had a conquest rate of 69.8% last year, meaning nearly seven in 10 buyers came from another brand, while the IONIQ 9’s conquest rate was 64.3%.

The discounts come as the U.S. electric vehicle market adjusts to the absence of the $7,500 federal tax credit, which ended a year ago under the Trump administration. Hyundai responded by cutting prices on the IONIQ 5 by nearly $10,000 on some trims earlier.

If you want even more off a three-row EV, Kia is offering up to $10,000 off its EV9 this month, Electrek notes. The IONIQ 9 at $7,000 off is still a strong deal, but the Kia undercuts it on sticker price. Either way, this is a good month to shop electric SUVs.

**The verdict:** If you need three rows, the IONIQ 9 at $419 a month lease is hard to beat. The IONIQ 5 at $339 a month for a 245-mile range is the better value for most families. The math works: 10% off factory-fresh EVs built in the U.S. is a rare deal.
