2027 BMW iX4: Electric Coupe-SUV Starts at $67,695
Car and Driver reports BMW's sloped-roof EV, the iX4, arrives next March with up to 428 miles of range and a $4,845 premium over the iX3.

Car and Driver reports that BMW has revealed the 2027 iX4, the electric coupe-styled version of the recently launched iX3. The iX4 replaces the discontinued gas X4 and comes in two all-wheel-drive trims: a base 50 xDrive and a more powerful M60 xDrive.
The 50 xDrive produces 463 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque, while the M60 bumps that to 603 horsepower and 645 pound-feet. BMW says the base model reaches 60 mph in 4.7 seconds (top speed 130 mph), and the M60 hits 62 mph in 3.9 seconds (top speed 149 mph). The automaker told Car and Driver it doesn't have a finalized 0–60 time for the M60 yet because it's further out.
BMW claims the 50 xDrive's 112-kWh battery delivers up to 428 miles of range under EPA testing. The M60 shares the same battery, but an official range figure is pending — Car and Driver expects the more powerful variant to be less efficient. Thanks to an 800-volt architecture, both models can charge at up to 400 kW, adding 184 miles in 10 minutes. A 10-to-80 percent charge takes about 21 minutes.
The interior mirrors BMW's Neue Klasse design: a 17.9-inch center touchscreen, a 43.0-inch windshield display, and an optional 3-D head-up display. The M60 adds an M Sport steering wheel with a red marker at 12 o'clock, shift paddles, and buttons for Boost and M modes.
Like most coupe-like SUVs, the iX4 comes at a premium. The 50 xDrive starts at $67,695 when it goes on sale in March 2027 — $4,845 more than the equivalent iX3. Pricing for the M60 hasn't been announced, but Car and Driver estimates it will land near $90,000.
